Who I am

At the age of ten I became fascinated by aircraft. At first, I simply wanted to fly. Then another question appeared.
If I want an aircraft, I need a wing. If I need a wing, I need to understand why it flies. If I want to understand why it flies, I need to understand airflow. And once I started following that thread, the questions never stopped. That curiosity eventually led me through aircraft maintenance, gliderflying, mechanical engineering, composite structures, simulation, CFD, CNC manufacturing and product development.
Each of them became a tool for exploring the next question.
Alongside that curiosity, another principle has always been present:
Things should be done well. Not only functional, but thoughtful. Not only efficient, but elegant. Not only engineered, but carefully crafted. The same curiosity that started with aircraft still drives my work today.

That question still drives every project I take on today.

My Role

Projects rarely need one person to do everything.
They need someone who helps ensure that every important part is carried out by the people who can create the greatest value.
That is how I see my role.
I remain actively involved throughout the project, because responsibility requires understanding what is actually being built.
Where my own expertise creates the greatest value, I work directly on the project.
Where another specialist is the better choice, I bring the right people into the team—most often from a trusted network of trusted collaborators and manufacturing partners.
I don't believe every part of a project should be done by the same person.
I believe every part should be done by the person who can create the greatest value.

I don't take responsibility for doing everything myself.
I take responsibility for building the bridge from vision to reality—and helping ensure it is crossed with quality.

I look for the places where a project is stuck, where something does not yet exist, or where something hurts — and build a bridge toward a better outcome.

Part of my work is understanding how natural systems can be used intentionally to improve comfort, performance and the experience of a space.
I am particularly interested in:

  • Thermal comfort and passive environmental design.
  • Solar exposure and shading strategies.
  • Airflow-driven performance optimisation.
  • Nature-inspired engineering solutions.

Through simulation, prototyping and fabrication.
I explore ways to transform these invisible forces into active design elements.
